My name is Nicolas but most people call me Nick or Nico I was born in Cologne Germany in 1992. I founded NSS( Nicks Scuba Squad) in 2013. I am a PADI Course Director and I love everything about scuba diving I would live underwater if I could. I started diving at a very young age with my first official course being in 2001 where I became a PADI Junior Open Water Diver. Growing up on the gorgeous Island of Gran Canaria I always had a passion for the ocean ever since I can remember I have been in the sea snorkeling and swimming till sundown.  For me it all started on a beautiful beach on an island in Spain.  Where will it all start for you? or Where did it start for you ? one thing I know for sure as soon as I took my first breath I fell in love with diving.  So I knew I had to make my life about diving.

Over thousand of dives later not only do I teach diving but I teach people how to teach diving.  One could say that I am living the dream. I have worked and dove all over the world. From the Cenotes in Mexico to the beautiful walls of Fiji. I have dived all oceans in the world except the Arctic. Cold waters , warm water even Ice water I have tried it all. From lakes , to rivers , to quarries, to caves  you mention it I dove it. I dove in dry suit , wetsuit , no suit. And still there are many things on my list that I haven’t tried yet. And I always say every dive you learn something new or see something new. One of  my passions is definitely Tech diving and exploring new wrecks. Something about the History of the wrecks I find interesting be it a plane in the Bahamas or a huge passenger cruise ship in Egypt.

I have always had a devotion to teaching others , ones I finished my university degree in marketing and public relations I started a career as a English teacher in China. I spent almost two years as a teacher when I realize that I loved it so I decided to combine it with the one other thing I love. So I became a PADI Instructor and since then I have taught over a 1000 courses from beginner all the way to instructor. In the last years I have found another passion which is freediving something I did as a little boy and then recently started practicing it more seriously. I am also a Freediver instructor and love teaching and learning new things every dive .  My Motto is from every Dive student you learn just as much as he learns from you. I have taught and dove with people from all over the world  and still I keep up my tradition that my instructor showed me back in the day in Gran Canaria which was to have a pizza after every certification and fill out Logbooks with the Students while eating.  I love sharing dive stories and travel adventures.
